New Frontier, the Western territorial newspaper, received an award of merit in the Awards of Excellence newspaper category during the Evangelical Press Association’s (EPA) annual convention, held in San Diego, CA.

It’s the second award of merit the paper has received.

Kevin Dobruck, New Frontier Art Director, taught two courses on design: “Page Design Basics,” and “Creativity on Deadline.” He also designed the promotional materials and conference brochure.

Managing Editor Sue Schumann Warner was part of the regional planning committee.

“I’m pleased and honored for this recognition by significant publishers of Christian periodicals,” said New Frontier Editor Robert Docter. “I also am pleased by the participation of New Frontier staff.”

Nearly 300 attended the annual event. Award-winning author Philip Yancey, author and pastor David Jeremiah, and Dr. Roberta Hestenes, minister-at-large for World Vision and former president of Eastern College, were keynote speakers.

Publications represented included: Christianity Today, Discipleship Journal, World Vision Magazine, Decision, New Man and a host of others.
