Commissioning weekend holds much in store for the children and youth of the territory, beginning with our Territorial Bible Bowl competition. Teams representing nine divisions will kick off the tournament playing their initial matches at the Whittier Corps, Calif. at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8.

On Friday morning you will want to come to the Commencement exercises at Crestmont (10:30 a.m.) prepared with a change of clothes in order to participate in all that Family Fiesta will offer that afternoon. Children and youth will especially enjoy Scott Violette, Gospel Magician, who will amaze and astound with his illusions. Climbing walls and inflatable games will provide excitement and fun for the young and young at heart. When refreshment and rejuvenation are needed—no worries! Popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, sodas and gourmet coffee will be available throughout the afternoon.

The five remaining Bible Bowl teams will also be finishing their tournament during the Family Fiesta with matches at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. The final two teams will play off for the territorial champion’s trophy in the Crestmont chapel at 4:30 p.m.

Childcare will be provided for children ages 11 and under during the meetings in Cerritos on Saturday evening and Sunday. Christian education, fun, games and activities will be provided for each age group! The cost is $5.00 per child per meeting and pre-registration by June 1 is required. Please use the commissioning ticket order form available from your corps officer.

Young adults will have two opportunities for fellowship and fun at the late night activities planned especially for them. Friday at 9:30 p.m. young adults will gather outdoors around fires at the Crestmont campus, enjoying fellowship and food, complete with roasted marshmallow s’mores, hot dogs and more. Saturday evening will bring young adults together again at 9:30 p.m. for dessert in a coffee house setting at the Cerritos Center’s Sierra Room with inspiring music provided by the Gameliel Ruiz band and PraiseWorks! You won’t want to miss these outstanding opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet new ones!
