the challenge
by Pam Strickland, Lt. Colonel –
The 2010 Western Bible Conference—to be held at Mt. Hermon Conference Center, Aug. 21-26—is filling up fast. This will be a wonderful spiritual retreat of great Bible teaching with Col. Clive Adams and Dr. Bill Ury.
Each afternoon will be set aside for family fellowship and adventure or just rest in the beauty of God’s creation. On Tuesday afternoon, all will be invited to take a train ride from the conference center into Santa Cruz for a relaxing afternoon. Roundtrip fare is included in the conference registration fee!
Full registration includes lodging; three meals per day; all adult, youth and childcare programming.
Complete your registration form now and don’t miss out on this wonderful Bible conference experience. Check with your local corps officer.
Enjoy the adventure
Soar through the cool forest groves and experience the giant Redwoods from 150 feet above the canyon floor. Mt. Hermon guides will lead you through a tour of seven platforms, two sky bridges, and six zip lines of up to 440 feet in length. The Redwood Canopy Tour takes about two hours and the course covers nearly a third of a mile.
I would like to challenge the cabinet and all our divisional/command leaders to an afternoon of fun and adventure on this course. Who is up to the challenge? Will I see you on the course? Come, watch, participate and cheer on your leader in this great adventure. Check out the Redwood Canopy Tour at mounthermon.org/redwood-canopy-tours.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2 NIV).
