Majors Loyd and Vicki Roberts


Majors Loyd and Vicki Lee Roberts recently entered honorable retirement, after serving a combined total of 44 years as Salvation Army officers.

The couple entered the School for Officers’ Training in 1979 from the Idaho Falls Corps, and were commissioned with the God’s Soldiers Session in 1981. From 1981-1992 they had 11 years of corps appointments, all in the Northern California Division, followed by 11 years of ARC appointments.

They retire from their current appointments as Administrator and Director of Special Services, respectively, of the Riverside County, Calif. ARC.

Their appointments included serving as corps officers in Sunnyvale/Mountain View, Stockton and Fresno, Calif. After ARC training in Phoenix and San Bernardino, they served at the ARCs in Santa Monica, Calif.; Portland, Oregon; Honolulu and finally, Riverside County. They were blessed in all their appointments.

A Celebration of Service was held at the Riverside County ARC with Major Kenneth Gibson presiding; Lt. Colonel Daniel Starrett presided at the Retirement Ceremony.

The Roberts, who celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this year, have three children and five grandchildren and look forward to spending time with them. In retirement, they will reside at: 27090 Blue Hill Drive, Sun City, CA 92586.
