Shown left to right are Lim Teck Leon, CEO of the Singapore Totalisator Board; S. R. Nathan, President of Singapore; Yu Pang Fey, CEO of Singapore Turf Club; and Captain Robinson—in a uniform not usually seen at racecourses!

For Western officer Captain Ian Robinson, director of Peacehaven Nursing Home for the Aged in Singapore, it was an afternoon at the races—all for the Lord’s business, of course!
Peacehaven was one of the charities chosen by Singapore President S.R. Nathan to share one million Singapore dollars donated by the Singapore Totalisator Board. Peacehaven’s share was US$50,000, and the presentation took place at Kranji racecourse on the day of the running of the Singapore Gold Cup.

As William Booth put it, “Tainted money? T’aint enough of it!”
