Mark your calendars for June 12-14.

Commissioning—a weekend of spiritual renewal and Salvation Army fellowship for soldiers, officers and friends! This year, General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton will lead the Western Territory’s commissioning celebration, prior to touring the territory.

The weekend of June 12-14 begins at Crestmont with the Commencement exercises on Friday morning, followed by the dedication of new cadet housing and the Silver Star banquet, where parents of the new officers are honored.

Friday afternoon, the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel will host the playoff rounds in the Territorial Bible Bowl competition. Be sure to take this opportunity to witness the Bible knowledge of our young people and to support and encourage them. Friday evening concludes with late night young adult fellowship, presented by the Territorial Youth Department.

On Saturday morning, officers from the Southern California, Sierra del Mar and Hawaiian and Pacific Islands divisions will join with officers from Territorial Headquarters, the ARC Command and College for Officer Training in meetings with the General. Those who have reached milestones in their service will be invited to lunch with the General, Commissioner Clifton and Territorial Leaders Commissioners Philip and Patricia Swyers.

The finals of the Bible Bowl competition will take place on Saturday afternoon. Afterwards, everyone who has purchased a ticket for the Saturday night program may enjoy a buffet dinner.

The Saturday night program will feature the Western Territorial Band and the Pasadena Tabernacle Songsters. The program, Celebrate—Army of the Lord, will include the enrollment of new soldiers by the General and presentation of the Bible Bowl competition winners.

Another opportunity for young people to meet together in fellowship follows the evening program.

Sunday—the culmination of the week—will focus on the Commissioning, Ordination and Appointments of the new officers. Prior to the morning Commissioning and Ordination service, Salvationists and friends are invited to enjoy fellowship and free Starbucks coffee in the Sheraton Hotel. The final meeting of Commissioning weekend will be the Service of Appointments.

Prepare now to be part of this exciting spiritual weekend as we celebrate together with our international leaders!
