Colorado Springs has fun
Major David Howarth reports the Colorado Springs Corps recently hosted their annual Family Fun Fest, attended by several hundred people from the community. Attractions included: a Fort Carson Military Police dog team, police ID unit, hot rods, live music by the local Samoan Assemblies of God worship band, carnival games, lots of food and a car sledge hammer smash, with the car supplied by the local ARC. Corps folk mingled among the crowd sporting badges saying: “I come to this church and I luv it—ask me a question.” The Denver Harbor Light Center provided fun door prizes which brought everybody together for a finale. Attendees left with smiles and copies of the New Testament, details of corps worship and coming special events.

Ventura’s first
The Ventura, Calif., corps held its first Summer Day Camp, reported Captain Lourdes Griffith, associate corps officer. “Our total registration was 20 children, and the event was a great success; now our neighbors know we are a church as well, and some of these children will be attending our after-school programs soon.” Kids enjoyed field trips, cooking lessons, crafts and more. Captain Lynda Thompson is corps officer.
