Dale and Lyn Hill Enter Ranks of Honorably Retired Officers

Majors Dale and Lyn Hill will officially retire from active service as of March 31, 1999. At that time, they will have given over 39 and 38 years of service as active officers.

Major Dale Hill was born in El Centro, Calif., to officer parents. He entered the School for Officers’ Training from the Glendale Corps and was commissioned in 1953 as part of the Heralds Session. Major Lyn Hill was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and entered training from the Glendale Corps. She was commissioned as part of the Intercessors Session in 1952.

The Hills were married in 1954. They have four children: Deborah Sue, Dale Edward, Diana Lyn and Dena Marie. All four are now married and have presented the Hills with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Major Dale Hill earned his Doctor of Education degree at Arizona State University in 1985. Their appointments have included many corps, divisional appointments and the staff of the School for Officers’ Training. In June 1989 Major Dale Hill was appointed as the Education Secretary and Major Lyn Hill as the Special Activities Coordinator in the Education Department.

As a part of this appointment, the Hills have been responsible for the Territorial Officers’ Institutes, Auxiliary Captains’ Seminars, Preaching Seminars, Counseling/Pastoral Care Seminars and the Holy Land Study Tour.

The Hills are known throughout the territory for their dedication to God and their loving and helpful spirit toward their fellow officers.

In retirement, the Hills will settle in Washington state. Their address will be: 15005 N.E. 44th Circle, Vancouver WA 98682, and they will receive mail at P.O. Box 1302, Vancouver WA 98687-1402.
