Chief of the Staff Commissioner Robin Dunster joined African Salvationists of the United Kingdom with the Republic of Ireland Territory for an African praise gathering in the city of Bath, England. They marched through the streets to an open air meeting in front of the Roman baths.

Following an African lunch at Bath Citadel hall, Salvationists and friends met for African praise and worship under the theme, “Holy Spirit, Descend On Us.” Corps Officer Major Andrew Diaper-Clausen introduced guests including Dunster, Africa Zone Leaders Commissioners Amos and Rosemary Makina (international headquarters), Lt. Colonel George Pilkington (territorial headquarters), Major Vera Pilkington and Divisional Commander Major Cliff Bradbury.

An African worship band—Salvationists from around the territory—participated; Territorial Envoy Amass Chabata (Manchester Central) led prayer. The Chief of the Staff reported worldwide Army news and new openings in Greece, Namibia, Kuwait and Mongolia, emphasizing the ongoing work of building relationships in many countries with a view to future opportunities for the Army.

Dunster spoke of the perfect example of humility and sacrificial service in the life of Jesus. Commissioner Rosemary Makina prayed and gave the altar call, to which many responded—the mercy seat was lined three deep.

The day concluded with the Founder’s Song, “O Boundless Salvation!” led by the divisional commander who was appropriately attired in an African shirt.

Some of the visitors stayed the night to attend Sunday worship at the corps where, once again, seekers thronged to the mercy seat.
