Women’s Auxiliary of Honolulu presents 23rd annual show and boutique.

Three hundred fifty guests attended The Salvation Army’s recent 23rd annual Celebrity Fashion Show, Luncheon and Boutique, enjoying a day of shopping for bargains and hearing about the life-changing ministries of The Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Honolulu, in partnership with the Adult Rehabilitation Center, presented the event at the Hilton Waikiki in Honolulu. The fashion show and boutique featured elegant and stylish pre-owned apparel, shoes, jewelry, accessories and collectibles found at The Salvation Army Family Stores.

The happening has developed a loyal following among Honolulu’s discriminating fashion bargain hunters, who could shop at the boutique before and after the Fashion Show.

In addition to the local celebrities featured at the Fashion Show—including Miss Hawaii, recently a semi-finalist in the Miss America pageant—the affair provided an opportunity to showcase the work of two drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs of The Salvation Army—Women’s Way and the Adult Rehabilitation Center.  Two graduates of the programs, Wendy Tisdale and Everett Levin, gave testimonies, sharing their life journey towards recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. Both delivered moving accounts of how their broken lives have been transformed through the help and guidance of The Salvation Army.
