The Latino family camp which took place at The Salvation Army camp in Southern California was attended by nearly 500 people. Full of joy, they greeted and blessed each other with hugs of joy and thankfulness to the Lord.
In the opening gathering, the message given by the divisional commander, Lt. Colonel Alfred Van Cleef, made a great spiritual impact. His sermon stressed the great blessings that God brings to us each day. These begin with the decision to ask Christ to be our Savior. “God blesses us not for what we are, but for who he is,” the Colonel reminded us.
One hundred eighty-five individuals with Bibles and a hunger for God came to Saturday prayer meeting at seven a.m.
The musical participation at the camp included Los Angeles Central Corps, Santa Ana Temple, Lincoln Heights Corps, the Diaz duet, Andre Paganelli, and Magda Villarreal. It gladdens God’s heart when his children offer up their talents in worship. God is the giver of the talent; God be praised!
Colonels Joel and Debora León, visiting from Chile, spoke on “Building the Family.” Envoy David García expertly directed the spiritual campfire service, Lt. Colonel Sherryl Van Cleef surprised us by giving her testimony in Spanish, Lieutenant Antonio Perales led the program for the young people, Lieutenant Blanca Ruiz led the children’s programming, and Lieutenant Oscar Tippol led the children’s carnival.
In the Sunday morning Holiness service Van Cleef made a call for candidates to officership and 12 people accepted the opportunity for prayer.

El Campamento Familiar Latino se llevó en el Campamento del Ejército de Salvación en el Sur de California, reuniendo 500 personas. Llenos de gozo ellos se saludaron y bendijeron unos a otros con abrazos y agradecimiento al Señor.
El mensaje dado por el Ten. Coronel Alfred Van Cleef en la reunión de apertura fue de gran impacto espiritual. Destacó las grandes bendiciones que Dios nos da cada día. Siendo éstas acompañadas con la decisión de pedir a Cristo que sea nuestro Salvador. “Dios no nos bendice por lo que somos, sino conforme a como Él es,” nos recordó el Coronel.
El sábado, 185 individuos con Biblias y hambre de Dios vinieron a la reunión de oración a las siete de la mañana.
La participación musical en el Campamento incluyó: el Cuerpo de Los Angeles Central, Santa Ana Temple, Cuerpo Lincoln Heights, dueto los Díaz, Andrés Paganelli, y Magda Villarreal. El corazón de Dios se alegra cuando sus hijos ofrecen sus talentos en adoración a Él. Dios es el dador de los talentos; ¡Alabado sea Dios!
Los Coroneles Joel y Débora León, visitantes de Chile, expusieron la base bíblica sobre “Construyendo la Familia”. El Enviado David García dirigió, eficientemente, el servicio de fogata espiritual, La Ten. Coronel Van Cleef nos sorprendió dando su testimonio en español, el Teniente Antonio Perales dirigió el programa para la juventud, la Teniente Blanca Ruiz dirigió la programación de los niños, y el Teniente Oscar Tippol dirigió el carnaval de niños. En la reunión de santidad del domingo en la mañana, el Ten. Coronel Van Cleef hizo un llamado para candidatos a oficiales y doce personas aceptaron la oportunidad de que se orara por ellos.
