Youth training materials now available in Spanish

Due to the generosity of the Multi-Cultural Ministries Department, all Spanish-speaking corps have received free copies of corps cadet and junior soldiers training materials which have been translated into Spanish.

The “Training Junior Soldiers” materials are weekly lessons which have been especially created for jr. soldiers between ages 7 and 14. These lessons include activities in Bible study, Salvation Army doctrines and Salvation Army history and traditions. They will train our youngest members to be effective soldiers in our Army.

The corps cadet course is a discipleship course for teens and provides Bible study and leadership training. The goal of this program is to help teens grow in their faith, and become better equipped for effective service in The Salvation Army. Lessons will be provided for the course, which spans February through June of 2004.

“We recently became aware that many of our Spanish-speaking corps either didn’t know that this material was available, or lacked the funds to purchase it,” explains Lori Peacock, Christian education specialist (THQ Youth). “We are very grateful that we can now get this curriculum out to all our Spanish-speaking corps so they, too, can see and use the outstanding Christian education materials which The Salvation Army has produced.
