The whole village celebrated at the dedication of the new corps church here. A public reception included the territorial commander, Commissioner Mohan Masih, T.P.W.O. Commissioner Swarni Masih, and Mr. T.M. John, a member of the Legislative Assembly, and other officials. The commissioner explained about The Salvation Army work all around the world and extended sincere thanks to the USA Western Territory for the donation of $11,000 which made this building possible. Many knelt at the mercy seat, receiving the power of the Holy Spirit.

GUBEN, GERMANY
Western officers A/Captains Patrick and Kitty Granat began their work in Guben in a neglected building reclaimed from the East German government. Renovation in many areas of the building was made possible by a gift of $42,300 from our territory.

Lt. Colonel Roy G. Bungay, officer commanding, unveiled the plaque during the opening ceremony during the Gulf Regional Congress. They are grateful for the gift of $5,000 from the U.S. Western Territory, which met this specific need.
ANAND YOUNG WOMEN’S HOSTEL: INDIA WESTERN
The U. S. Western Territory partnered the India Western Territory with $10,000 for room construction, which will provide much needed accommodation for girls continuing with their education.
MOLDOVA, RUSSIA
$2,500 from our territory enabled the purchase of a computer and printer.
ZAMBIA/MALAWI
Western officers Captains Ted and Debbie Horwood had many problems with the vehicle they needed for corps programs, extension training seminars, and other errands. Constant breakdowns gave threat of danger, especially when traveling after dark. One day when Debbie drove up, a wheel fell off. The suspension was gone, and repair funds were inadequate to restore life to this hopeless car. They now have a new $25,000 vehicle, thanks to the generosity of the Western Territory.
ITALY
For 80 years, there has been a men’s social service center in the heart of Rome. Somehow, through the years, it has been operating to house as many as 50 homeless men. Originally a massive dormitory and feeding station, it now
has cubicles for each man. A donation of $175,000 has renovated the washroom, cement roof, and electrical and drainage systems. The Army continually strives to improve the quality of service and help these men recover their self esteem.
BRAZIL
A corps officer without a telephone is definitely handicapped in his ministry. The Santa Cruz Corps welcomes the contribution of $2,250 from our territory for the instrument and necessary wiring.
THE PHILIPPINES
Office work is vastly improved with our donation of $5,000 for a photocopier and mimeograph machine for territorial headquarters.
NIGERIA
The Akai Children’s Home was greatly in need of a generator, water tank and pumps. This was provided by the West’s donation of $10,000, with a small balance that was passed on to the Home.
INDIA SOUTH EASTERN
A contribution of $7,500 made possible extensive repairs and renovations to quarters and halls.
INDIA EASTERN
The donation of $4,700 enabled the construction of a Prayer Hall at Phuldungsei.
INDIA CENTRAL
The U.S. Western Territory, with its donation of $9,678, made possible the development at Hyderabad DHQ.
BANGLADESH
$45,000 for the training principal’s quarters here was provided by U.S. West. (Then) Commissioner Robert Watson, national commander USA, officially opened the overall training college complex of buildings last year. The college will, of course, have great impact on the ministry of The Salvation Army in Bangladesh.
CONGO, AFRICA (KINSHASA AND ANGOLA)
For over five years, people had been afraid to come to corps meetings for fear the walls would fall down. Help received by friends from abroad provided just about everything needed for the renovation of the meeting hall. Reassured of security, members are again attending meetings, and the corps has resumed a spirit of joy and dedication for the Lord.
