David King, 7, of the Medford Citadel, Ore., corps gave the perfect Valentine’s Day gift when he donated the entire contents of his piggy bank—$42.05—to the rebuilding efforts in Haiti. “Haiti is more important than video games,” David said. When his mother asked him what he knew about Haiti, he responded: “They don’t have any houses to live in and I heard about a man who can’t find his wife.” After tallying up his assets he commented, “I could buy two video games with this but it’s more important for people to have food to eat.” Major Glenda Berko, corps officer, accepted his gift.
