Tucson Army holds a “Spring Breakout”

THE MOORE STREET Contemporary Chorus from Portland, Ore. performed at the Spring Breakout concert held recently in Tucson, Ariz.

The Metropolitan Tucson, Ariz., Salvation Army recently held a spring breakout Gospel concert, attended by an estimated crowd of 250 who spent the afternoon sharing in music and celebration.

The event featured performances by the Moore Street Contemporary Chorus, from Portland, Ore., led by Dan Utrera and the Southwest Divisional Gospel Choir, led by Bill Nunez.

In addition, children enjoyed fun and games including a jumping castle, clowns and cotton candy.

Organized by the Tucson Temple Corps, Corps Officer Major Joe Utrera stated: “The event was a success. It was wonderful to have our corps and outposts come together and contribute their resources to make this event possible.”

Himmel Park, the neighborhood park where the concert took place, has experienced youth participating there in devil worshipping activities lately. The park director told Utrera it was “a welcome change to have The Salvation Army come to the park to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
