“The Whole World Mobilizing” mobile app is now available for Apple and Android devices. Described as a “fitness app for your spirit,” it encourages every Salvationist, officer, employee, advisory board member, friend and volunteer to step out of his or her comfort zone, share the gospel and participate in frontline service.
The app works similarly to the website, providing real-time updates on mission activities, practical coaching, devotional readings (including Words of Life content each day throughout 2017) and community and global prayer. The app unites Salvationists as they track activities on a live world map and connect in conversation with other Salvationists across the globe. Participants have already been sharing details of their own mobilization activities, using the “Reach” section for new ideas on how to engage people in meaningful conversation about faith, and coming together in prayer for each other through the website.
“The only way The Salvation Army can be a force for good, a force for change and a force for positive transformation in the world is for us to be true to our integrated mission,” said General André Cox. “The world needs us more than ever to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human need in his name without discrimination. We cannot fulfill that mission by hiding away in our halls and places of worship. Sin, injustice and exclusion are increasingly evident all around us. We were not designed to be a peacetime Army. Our name, uniforms and beliefs only make sense when we are mobilized into action. Here is a great way for you to be involved!”
The app is free to download and is built for light data use, making it accessible all around the world. Search for “The Whole World Mobilising” on the App Store or Google Play from your smartphone, or visit sar.my/twwmandroid (for Android devices) or sar.my/twwmios (for Apple devices).
This version of the app is in its early stages and will rely on feedback from participants for improvements. Users are encouraged to contact the support team by emailing twwmhelp@salvationarmy.org should any problems occur.
