After a two year hiatus, the men of the Golden State Division once again had a Men’s Fellowship Retreat at beautiful Camp Redwood Glen.

During the weekend, they enjoyed fellowship, Bible studies, recreational activities, and worship focusing on the use of “fuzzy logic” in our lives, as demonstrated through Matthew 5:37 and the lives of men in the Bible.

Captain Debi Shrum, divisional secretary for program, and one of the few women present, successfully planned and implemented the event. Guest speakers were Captain Clyde Curnow, administrator at Lytton ARC, and Lt. Nathaniel Doria, assistant education officer, College for Officer Training.

Curnow spoke to the men about how to live a life of integrity, commitment and purpose through faith in Jesus Christ. Doria led the praise and worship time, and spoke to the Hispanics at Bible study, focus groups, and a late night rally.

Envoy Steve Kennedy, director of the San Jose Hospitality House, gave a moving testimony about how his life was forever changed through the faithfulness of his wife and the power of the Holy Spirit.

During Sunday’s worship service, 18 men rededicated their lives to the Lord, and many testified to the saving grace of Jesus Christ and how he has given them new insight for living as men of integrity.
