Salvationist scout receives top award
Samuel Hill, 11-year-old son of Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Divisional Leaders Majors Edward and Shelley Hill, received the Arrow of Light award—the highest award in cub scouting—on Feb. 19, 2010. Sam belongs to Pack No. 33 in Honolulu, which is affiliated with Manoa Elementary School. He got his start with The Salvation Army scouting program at the Pasadena Tabernacle Corps. He also recently earned the Silvercrest award—the Army’s religious award in cub scouting; it is visible above his pocket. Flanking Sam are his scout leaders (L-R) Clayton Haida and Dr. Brent Uyeno.
