General Paul A. Rader and Mrs. General Kay F. Rader, international leaders of The Salvation Army, returned to the West to lead the Great Victory Congress. It is their first official visit since Rader was elected General nearly three years ago.
“It’s going to be a big, beautiful breakthrough for God and the ongoing growth and work of Christ in this Territory,” said Rader. “We return with great joy and expectation.”
At the time of his election by the High Council in July, 1994, he served as the West’s territorial commander and Mrs. Rader served as territorial president of women’s organizations.
In a unique set of circumstances, he had the distinction of being the only General in the Army’s history to command both a territory and the international Army simultaneously–after returning to the West from the High Council, he resumed duties at Crestmont for the month of August before they departed for International Headquarters in London.
The Army’s 15th international leader, he is the first American born General.
