Crest for Promoted to Glory

Brigadier Forrest Mosely was promoted to Glory recently from Oakmont Gardens in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Forrest was born in 1914 to Benjamin and Winifred Mosely in Oconee, Ill. A descendant of Abraham Lincoln, he was the eldest of three children. His integrity, honesty and high moral values, along with a deep love of God, formed his attitude toward life.

He received the call to officership at age 22 and entered the Training College in San Francisco, being commissioned with the Guardians of the Covenant Session in 1937. His first appointment in Petaluma, Calif., began a rich lifelong love of sharing Christ with others. In 1940, Forrest married Goodie Wingard, and in 1944 daughter Connie joined the family.

In addition to Arizona, the Moselys served in New Mexico, Montana, and Washington State. In Anchorage, Alaska, while divisional finance secretary, he worked at coordinating rescue and recovery during the quake of 1964.

After Goodie’s death in 1970, and that of Brigadier Bram Glaeser, a correspondence with Helen Glaeser became a marriage of almost 27 years. With this marriage he gained a daughter, Eva, and two sons, David and Bram Glaeser.

Forrest and Helen retired to Santa Rosa and served as full time volunteers at the Lytton ARC for 17 years, where he enjoyed his work as counselor. Helen was promoted to Glory earlier this year.

On a pleasant day, when he had been joking with friends, he was suddenly called Home. Capt. Cindy Foley conducted a private committal service at Cypress Lawn in San Francisco, and a memorial service was held at the Santa Rosa Corps, with Major Ralph Hood officiating.

Messages of sympathy may be sent in care of the following: Connie Hasler, 16401 N.E. 12th St., Vancouver WA 98684; and The Glaeser Family, c/o David Glaeser, 918 Autumn Drive, Modesto CA 95355-4515.
