The Salvation Army in Anchorage served 850 breakfasts in three hours at the Alaska Division’s 10th annual Fourth of July pancake breakfast. They raised $4,100 to benefit The Salvation Army’s McKinnell House program, which provides the only emergency shelter for two parent families and single dads and kids in Alaska. The shelter operates at full capacity (16 families), with the average stay being 55 days.
Totem Ocean Trailer Express (TOTE) sponsors the event, and food donations ensure that every dollar raised is directed to helping serve homeless families in the community.
