Northwest Airlines Makes Army Corporate Partner
With the campaign theme Need Knows No Season, Northwest Airlines features the work of The Salvation Army throughout October, November and December in its publications, in-flight video entertainment on all flights, and prominently displays the red shield at its ticket counters in airports throughout the nation, according to Major Tom Jones, national community relations and development secretary.
Identified by the airline as a “corporate partner,” the Army has long had a close working relationship with this international carrier during times of disaster, both in the country and overseas. The airline has provided free freight service and emergency passenger service during the Kobe earthquake, and has assisted disaster relief work during recent floods and hurricanes.
