Seniors enjoy a style show in Puyallup, Wash.
Welcoming a full house of 68 people, The Salvation Army Senior Activity Center (SAC) in Puyallup, Wash., held its annual “Style Show” in partnership with Grannie’s Attic thrift store. Those attending and modeling included activity center members, residents of The Salvation Army Silvercrest Residence, Corps Officer Major Charity Kramerius and SAC Director Raven Gillies.
Grannie’s Attic is a thrift store carrying gently used clothing and miscellaneous items. Seniors play an important role in preparing donations for sale. The money raised goes to purchase medical equipment for the local Good Samaritan Hospital.
The event honored four ladies aged 90 and above with special seating, a free lunch and a gift bag. Gillies’ gave a devotional message from the prayer in Song of Solomon 2:16, reminding the women that God has chosen each one of them. The men of SAC served the meal; the women will reciprocate at the upcoming Father’s Day luncheon.
