Major Sheila Bradley promoted to Glory

Salvationists throughout the Western Territory grieve the Promotion to Glory of Major Sheila Bradley, associate divisional secretary for program at the Southern California Divisional Headquarters, on March 10, 2010, following her extensive battle with cancer. Family was gathered at her side when she died. Prayer vigils are being held among her fellow officers and soldiers at the Pasadena Tabernacle Corps, where she soldiered with her husband, Major Steven Bradley, divisional secretary for program, and children Jonathan, 24, and Aleen, 23.

“It was with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we received word of Major Sheila Bradley’s promotion to Glory,” said Colonel William Harfoot, Western Territory chief secretary. “Our hearts and prayers immediately turned to support Major Steve, Jonathan, Aleen and all the family.

“Major Bradley gave 27 years of exemplary service. On behalf of the territorial cabinet I wish to express our sincere sorrow and appreciation of a life well lived, a family well loved and a calling fulfilled,” Harfoot said. “We salute Major Sheila Bradley and take comfort in the words of Psalm 116:15: Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”

Friends from throughout the territory are memorializing Sheila online, on a Facebook page entitled, “Bow the Knee – Pray for Sheila Bradley,” which recorded more than 780 members at the time of printing. This group had been praying for Sheila everyday at 3 p.m.
