A total of 159 campers attended some or all of the seven-week long summer day camp at Klamath Falls, Ore.
Children were introduced to positive activities and classroom settings including music, drama, art, audio/video, scouting programs, crafts and sports. More than 40 birdhouses were made for the Lake Ewans Nature Trail and the Wing Watcher Association. Field trips took them to such places as the Lava Beds National Monument, Klamath County Museum, KOTI TV, Double C Dog Training facility, and the state fish hatchery.
Kit and Dennis Ellingson, direc-tors,appreciated the talented and dedicated staff: Debi Leighton, Wendy Ellingson, Mike Middleton, Wendy Patzke, Ellie Olson, Cindy Tworek and John Pavlovich, plus numerous volunteers.
This day camp would not have been possible without the financial support of the The United Way, The Klamath County Commission on Children, The Salvation Army, and numerous groups and individuals who donated money, time and talents. Every child attending was introduced to the “good news” of Jesus Christ, and virtually every regular attendee accepted him as their personal Savior.
