Long Beach VBS raises money for Jamaica children’s home.

Over 100 youth from the Long Beach community attended this year’s joint Long Beach Citadel and Temple Corps “Power Lab” vacation Bible school (VBS), led by Christopher and Joanne Golden, young people’s sergeant-majors. Corps Officers Majors Glen and Linda Madsen (Long Beach Citadel) and Captains Luis and Korina Acosta (Long Beach Temple) supported the week. A Canadian missionary team, led by Michael Collins, also provided reinforcement.

During the week, the kids focused on raising money to support a children’s home in Jamaica, called “the Nest.” The boys and girls competed throughout the week to see who could raise more moneytogether they brought in $1200.
