Win an expense-paid trip to see Urban and the Dallas Cowboys
Continuing a tradition, the Dallas Cowboys will once again kick off The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign during their Thanksgiving Day—Nov. 26—football game against Super Bowl champions the New Orleans Saints.
This year, fans have a chance to win an expense-paid trip to the game in Dallas—two will be given away—by sponsoring an Online Red Kettle.
Featured performer for the event will be three-time Grammy Award winner Keith Urban. Urban’s halftime show will mark the 14th year the Dallas Cowboys and The Salvation Army have partnered together to raise money for people in need.
Urban will play a number of his hits, including his latest single, “Put You in a Song,” from his Get Closer CD, due for release on Nov. 16.
“I’m really honored to be a part of this great tradition and great partnership between the Dallas Cowboys and The Salvation Army,” Urban said.
The Country Music Association (CMA) honored Urban in 2001 with its Horizon Award, designating him a talented artist with a bright future. He remains the only award recipient in history to go on to win CMA’s Male Artist of the Year—a title he has captured thee times—and the coveted Entertainer of the Year. He has also earned a People’s Choice and an American Music award.
His list of additional accomplishments include five Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 #1 hits—including 21 Top 5 hits—and two consecutive #1 CDs.
Urban was named the year’s most played country artist in 2009 thanks to songs like “Sweet Thing,” “You’ll Think of Me,” “Only You Can Love Me This Way,” “Better Life” and “Days Go By.” Nielsen BDS (broadcast data systems) named his 2002 smash, “Somebody Loves You,” the #1 Country Song of the Decade.
His concerts have played to sold-out venues in Australia, Germany, England, Canada and the U.S. His Escape Together World Tour in 2009, as well as his 2007 Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy World Tour were two of the top grossing tours for their respective years.
Charlotte Jones Anderson, Dallas Cowboys’ executive vice president brand management/president of charities and recently announced new chairperson of The Salvation Army’s National Advisory Board, announced Urban’s participation on ESPN’s Monday Night Football when Dallas played the New York Giants.
“We know Keith’s drive to share his voice with others will connect with and encourage the American public to give generously and support the important work being done by The Salvation Army,” she said.
