Program graduates celebrate changed lives.

Over 160 past rehabilitation graduates, advisory board members and guests recently attended the first ever Las Vegas Adult Rehabilitation Program’s Alumni Dinner at the Station Casinos in Las Vegas, Nev.

Major William Raihl, Clark County Coordinator, welcomed guests to the dinner event, themed “The Miracle of Change.” He introduced the newly formed Las Vegas ARP Alumni Association, composed of 36 past graduates, and installed the recently elected officers.

President of the ARP Alumni Association, Ryan Burrel, presented plaques of appreciation from the association in recognition of support to Majors William and Harryette Raihl, recently retired Clinical Director Terry Robinson, and staff liaison to the association Phyllis Montavon.

Nevada State Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Pastor Dean Mcquillan, gave the evening’s message.

Past ARP graduates shared testimonials from their lives. George Walker, who graduated in 2000, told about a life ravaged by alcohol. He said alcohol drove apart his family until God “got a hold” on him at the ARP and his life completely changed. He went from a mean man to a man of love and compassion, he told the crowd, a man full of love for his Lord. George is now a constant presence at ARP chapels and has helped many of the men through their recovery.

Rosie Brown, who graduated in 1996, shared her testimony in word and song. One guest later said her voice was like listening to a choir of angels. Since graduating, Rosie has been employed with the Army and received her bachelor’s degree.

After such a successful and encouraging event, the Las Vegas ARP plans to hold an annual alumni dinner to celebrate the miracle of change in graduates’ lives.
