Fuges receive IHQ appointments

Major Walter Fuge, currently Western Territorial Financial Secretary, is appointed Finance Secretary within the Business Administration Department, International Headquarters, with the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Major Ardis Fuge, currently Director of Retired Officers Services for the Western Territory, is appointed Associate Chaplain and City of London Liaison Officer within the Administration Department of International Headquarters with the rank of Lt. Colonel.

The appointments are effective Feb. 1, 2010.

Western Territorial Chief Secretary Colonel William Harfoot said: “The USA West is sending one of our best officer couples to IHQ. Majors Fuge have both given outstanding service to our territory. It has been a pleasure for me to work closely with Walter this past year and I have depended on his knowledge, his skill and his integrity. He will be missed, but his sphere of influence will be enlarged as he takes up responsibilities at IHQ.”

Together the Fuges have 72 years of service as officers in The Salvation Army; Walter has 35, and Ardis, 37.
