AAYBC youth minister in Mesa
Nineteen members of the San Francisco Asian American Yerba Buena Corps’ worship team, under the leadership of Christopher Toy, descended on Mesa, Arizona, over New Year’s. While at the corps, they conducted fellowships, Sunday school, Sunday worship service, and performed in the all-night New Year’s Eve service. Majors Brian and Gwendolyn Jones are Mesa corps officers.

Captain Moises Hernandez, Jr., corps officer at the Pomona, Calif., corps, has recently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. Congratulations, Captain!
Child/Adult Safety grows
Territorial Child/Vulnerable Adult Safety Consultant Anne Calvo, R.N., reports that the Western Territory now has 130 trained safety consultants. The newest consultants are from the Alaska Division and include Divisional Commander Major Doug Tollerud. Tollerud and his wife, Major Sherryl Tollerud are the first divisional leader couple to be trained. Lt. Colonel Evelyn Hunter, former Northwest Divisional Commander, was trained while serving as acting divisional commander in Alaska and serves as a consultant in post-retirement.
Pomona turns 120
On April 11, 2008 the Pomona Corps will commemorate 120 years of service to the community, with a special dinner at the Pomona Fairplex Sheraton.
