Latino Women’s Camp A Success
Under the leadership of Major Rose Marie Leslie, supported by the Latino officers, envoys, and ministry leaders in the Southern California Division, the Latino Women’s Camp was a huge success. Guest speaker Mrs. Noemi Motessi spoke to the 250 women in attendance about “spiritual gardening,” referring to the camp’s theme, “Down a garden path.” Over $2,000 was raised for the West’s territorial project during the camp.
Kerr Keynotes At Anacortes
The Anacortes, Washington Corps recently hosted one of the largest annual civic dinners in the 97-year history of the Army in this scenic northwest community. “Heart To God – Hand To Man” was the theme for this event. The keynote speaker was Graham Kerr, internationally known culinary and television personality (“The Galloping Gourmet”), who shared enlightened stories with his warm English humor about his faith experiences and appreciation for the Army. Numerous awards and recognitions were presented to groups and individuals who assisted the Army in carrying out its ministry in Anacortes throughout the year.

Thank You
Lt. Colonel Carolyn Peacock writes, “To everyone who called, sent cards, letters or an e-mail, the family of Brigadier Emma Irby wishes to thank you for your kindnesses during this difficult time. It was wonderful reading some old and familiar stories or learning new ones from her friends. (We just learned her nickname in training was “Cadet Giggles.”) It has been most helpful and encouraging to hear from so many. Thank you for remembering us and thinking of our mother.
