The Salvation Army continues to serve first responders and survivors of a deadly tornado in Chetek, Wisconsin.
Yesterday, Salvation Army volunteers handed out 225 meals, 550 drinks, plus snacks. They also offered emotional and spiritual care for those who needed it.
The Salvation Army prepared and served lunch provided by a caterer out of Eau Claire on May 19 as a continuation of emergency services. A Salvation Army canteen deployed to serve lunch at noon and stayed on site until 7 p.m. In addition to the meal service, volunteers worked at the Mosaic Telecom to serve dinner as provided by Amery Baptist Church.
The Salvation Army is now preparing to assist with the long-term recovery for those impacted, including rent and personal and family needs.
