The Moppets are Coming!
Saturday night
June 13th at 6:00 p.m.
Cerritos Center for
the Performing Arts
Excitement builds at C.F.O.T.
With just a few weeks to go, preparations for “GET ON BOARD, CHILDREN!” are well under way.
Mr. and Mrs. Noah are getting the ark ready for a cruise (very popular these days with the encouragement of El Ni–o) together with several of their grandchildren and not a few animals as well!
Children from the C.F.O.T. Family Care Center are practicing for their important part and a number of cadets are learning what it is like to be in someone else’s skin (see pictures on this page). You will not want to miss this very unusual musical event, and parents are encouraged to bring children to enjoy the family night organized by the College for Officer Training for Saturday night of the Commissioning Weekend.
“What do you do on a rainy day in an ark?”
We recommend that you come along and see for yourself. You won’t be sorry.
Saints Coming Alive!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the “camp,” a number of cadets–heavily disguised as Poppets–are getting ready to present “Saints Alive!” This mini-musical is built around the testimonies of a number of figurines that grace many Army mantles.
Come and meet Sarah and Effie, two delightful Army sisters who recall the hustle and bustle of the early-day Army. And Grover the drummer, who was converted on a street corner. Joy the bell-ringer will be there, as well as Molly the timbrelist; Rose the accordionist and Effie…a cymbal player who is the daughter of a judge in Cleveland!
Oh! And not forgetting Chester, the saxophone player who was converted by the testimony of a pal in the circus band.
Fantasy it may be, but that’s the way it was. Maybe it still should be!
Free gifts available for kids under 10.
