Headlining a host of national leaders and celebrities at the 1999 National Advisory Organizations Conference (NAOC) will be keynote speaker Andrew Young, former ambassador to the U.N.
The conference, to be held in Pasadena, Calif., April 29–May 2, will also feature General Paul A. Rader and Commissioner Kay F. Rader, recording artist Reba McEntire, members of the “Touched by an Angel” cast, and the International Staff Band from London. Rader will honor the Billy Graham Association with: “Lifetime Achievement/Excellence in Ethics” award.
“As the date of the NAOC Conference draws near, our enthusiasm grows for this exciting, uplifting event,” said Steven S. Reinemund, National Advisory Board Chair. “The last advisory conference of the 20th century will be a special one, where we gather together to chart a course of service to our Lord into the next millennium.
Delegates will have the opportunity to attend practical workshops to communicate and equip members to further the work of The Salvation Army as well as to learn all about the Army, its mission and history; to hear General Paul A. Rader relate a global view of the Army; to hear “Army of Stars” stories of the unsung heroes of human survival and success; and enjoy great music featuring the Army’s finest talent joining forces with other national stars.
