To kick off the holiday season, the San Rafael Corps “sounded the horns” literally! Advisory board members, officers, donors and guests participated in an unusual fundraising approach—a performance by the Marin Symphony and acclaimed violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcarin.

The concept of this event was to reach out to the friends and donors who support The Salvation Army through ticket sales and a reception before the concert. It would not have been possible without the hard work of the board members who were on hand to meet and greet donors and to make new friends.

The newly appointed Del Oro Divisional Commander Major Linda Markiewicz took the time to meet and greet guests. She was delighted with the outcome and sees huge potential with the event.

“This is a good doorway into a new partnership,” Markiewicz said.

A huge partnership possibility indeed, as over 60 guests purchased tickets to attend a great evening of music and to support The Salvation Army’s work in San Rafael.

The event, “was good not only for the income but for the exposure,” added Markiewicz.
The Salvation Army Night at the Marin Symphony provided personal contact with members of the community who want to make a difference in the lives of those the Army serves.
The San Rafael Corps looks forward to making this an annual event.
