Providence Community Corrections, under parent company Providence Service Corp., hosted its first annual “International Day of Service” on September 12. The Rome, Georgia, division of Providence Community Corrections served a free breakfast at The Salvation Army. Rene Fountain provided breakfast and Panera Bread also donated pastries and bread.
Prestige Builders built two large wooden benches to provide seating outside The Salvation Army and for clients to use as well. Providence Community Corrections will also be providing landscaping for the front of The Salvation Army’s existing building facing First Avenue.
This was a day for Rome’s Providence Community Corrections employees to give back to local citizens who are facing challenges and to share in fellowship within the community. It provided an opportunity to draw attention to The Salvation Army of Rome, which has served the community for over 100 years, and its need for further funding. The Salvation Army here has a new kitchen area and serves a full dinner every night to anyone needing a meal.
