Throughout the West, in communities large and small, Salvationists will serve Thanksgiving meals to the lost, the lonely, and the down-and-out.
A number of those served will be victims of the tragic fires that hit So. California.
The Southern California Division will host their annual Thanksgiving Eve Dinner on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Los Angeles Convention Center for 2,400 homeless and low-income men, women and children.
DisneyHand, worldwide outreach for The Walt Disney Company, will help supply the meals, provide magical entertainment and give toys to the children. More than 500 volunteers, including celebrities, local politicians and Salvation Army donors, will serve the turkey dinner with all the trimmings to the men, women and children who are from The Salvation Army’s social service programs and downtown Los Angeles skid row missions.
The next issue of New Frontier will report on the Army’s Thanksgiving service throughout the territory.
