The Pasadena Tabernacle Songsters have something to celebrate as they prepare to be the special guests for the 100th year anniversary of Salvation Army Songster Brigades in London and complete a tour of the United Kingdom.
The Celebrate tour, which will take place May 24 – June 1, 1998, will include stops in cities such as Portsmouth, Birmingham, Blackpool, Wellingbo-rough and London. At the Royal Albert Hall the Tab Songsters will join the International Staff Band, the International Staff Songsters and the Festival Chorus for a time of celebration honoring the ministry of all Salvation Army Songster brigades.
“We are thrilled, honored and humbled to be asked to take part in such a significant event,” Songster Leader Bill Flinn said. “We pray that the Tabernacle Songsters will be used in a mighty way as we celebrate our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.”
This tour marks the second visit to England of the Tabernacle Songsters, who participated in the International Congress and toured Great Britain in 1990.
The well-traveled group has also toured throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. Its 65 members come from differing backgrounds and professions and range in age from 15 to 75. They are firmly committed to weekly participation in worship and an ongoing involvement in the life and growth of their church, the Pasadena Tabernacle.
The Tab Songsters have also recently completed their fifth recording, due out this March. Titled, “Joy: A California Christmas,” this latest venture has the Songsters singing a variety of styles of Christmas songs and will feature the second CD-ROM produced by the group.
