Western Youth Forum
PASSION–Delegates catch the passion during a time of praise and worship lead by the band Praise Works!

Answering a call for young adult Salvationists to put their faith and trust in the living God to help lead The Salvation Army into the new millenium, 83 delegates and 33 youth leaders from throughout the Territory gathered recently for the first ever Salvation Army Western Youth Forum, tabbed “Breakthrough Generation.”

During the course of the weekend, –filled with worship, prayer, Bible study and discussion–delegates voiced concerns about decisions facing them daily and discussed critical issues coming out of the International Youth Forum that directly affect the ministry of the Army in the West. They also constructed a Declaration that outlines their plans for dealing with these critical issues in the future.

“This document is something they have embraced and committed to,” said Territorial Youth Secretary Major Rudy Hedgren. “They have and will solicit support from our territorial and divisional administration, corps officers and other young adults throughout the territory.”
