Calling all officers’ children! The Great Victory Congress has something special–just for you!
Territorial administration has recognized there is a need for the children of Salvation Army officers to get together for fellowship and to share those things that are unique to “being an officer’s child.” As a result, a special event is now being planned for the upcoming Congress.
A breakfast for officers’ children is scheduled for Monday, June 9, 1997, at 8:30 a.m. This event is open to all officers’ children ages 14 and up, and will feature musical presentations, personal testimonies, and the sharing of experiences about growing up in the Army. A resource table will also be available to receive and give information about being raised in an officer home. There will be newsletters, prayer partners and much, much more.
The goal of this event is not just to include those who are presently involved in the Army, but to reach out to all officers’ children. The more who attend and the broader the participation, the better it will be. If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions about the breakfast, please contact us at the addresses below.
Because we would like to be in contact with as many officers’ children as possible, we need your help! If you know the whereabouts of others who may not have access to this article or may not be involved in the Great Victory Congress, please send us that information. We want to make it possible for ALL officers’ children to participate in this exciting event, which will generate the impetus, energy, and vision to take us into the 21st Century.
