The Salvation Army in Boise, Idaho, held the 2018 Daffodil Tea—presented by KeyBank—on May 9. The event raised over $68,000 for the Booth Marian Pritchett School Program, which supports pregnant and parenting teens. One hundred percent of the proceeds goes to the program.
“It’s exciting that 97 years after The Salvation Army’s Boise Rescue Mission was dedicated we are able to continue the legacy of helping young women facing unexpected challenges by celebrating our past success, while creating amazing new future stories,” said Major Robert Lloyd, Treasure Valley Coordinator and Boise Corps Officer. “All of this is only possible due to the generosity of local sponsors and a generous community.”
Along with tea, the event featured historic fashions with a vintage hat contest, music and a garden photo shoot. The Daffodil Tea dates back to 1949, when hundreds of women attended the first tea to help defray the costs of what was then a Salvation Army hospital for unwed mothers.
Congratulations on this wonderful event benefiting a great program!
