Commissioner Philip Swyers congratulates Portland City Council member-elect Amanda Fritz. Fritz is a Salvationist at the Portland Tabernacle Corps and has been elected to a four-year term on the five member council. She received 76 percent of the vote and will take up office in January. Fritz recalled the impact of The Salvation Army Girl Guard program in an article published recently in New Frontier (vol. 26, no. 18).
