Sierra del Mar celebrates the arts and installs new leader.

The recent Gospel Arts Camp at the Sierra del Mar Wildwood Ranch culminated with a concert featuring 157 music students.
Before nearly 200 guests, Bandmaster Richard Opina introduced performances of song, timbrels, percussion, praise and worship, drama, hula and devotion-in-motion.
In addition, territorial Chief Secretary Lt. Col. William Harfoot installed Major Linda Markiewicz as the Sierra del Mar Divisional Commander.
Harfoot asked Markiewicz, “Do you rely on the Lord to enable you for the task entrusted to you?” She enthusiastically replied, “Absolutely!” Harfoot said her response demonstrates a strong commitment to follow the Lord and serve the people, adding that youth camp seemed the perfect setting to highlight Markiewicz’s interest in and commitment to young people.
“Territorial leadership has great confidence in Major Markiewicz as just the right person for just the right moment,” Harfoot said.
Markiewicz presented awards to the campers, including elective pins, major medals and honor campers.
