The Hendon Corps Band, from London, England, will be touring the Western Territory over the Easter week this year. This exceptional corps band excels in its commitment to Salvation Army music ministry, and each of the band’s 50 musicians is committed to service in various aspects of corps life.

Describing the band as, “one of the top two corps bands in the world,” Bandmaster Bill Flinn of the Pasadena Tabernacle Corps continues, “Hendon is a model band that all Salvationists, musicians or not, should strive to have their corps’ music forces emulate.”

Without a doubt the Hendon Band is one of The Salvation Army’s finest. Each of us should be proud to be associated with this group through our international church. Featuring soloists of the highest standard including David Daws, the band will provide exciting and innovative concerts that will be appealing to Sal-vationists and non-Salvationists alike. In the past, the band has changed into a big-band style setup, using the second half of their concert to present appealing newer pieces. The message of salvation will be evident in their music making and personal witness.

The band will be appearing on an extended segment of a local morning news show in Los Angeles and is also scheduled to appear at a conference for brass players at the University of Southern California.

Bandmaster Stephen Cobb, who is also the UK’s Territorial Music Ministries Director, and leader of the International Staff Band, along with his team, have exemplified the importance of training a child. As a result of this the band has many young Salvationists committed at an early age to service in this ministry.
